How Long?

I am most often asked "How long?"  I have no crystal ball and it is impossible for me to say for sure.  But if I had to make an intelligent guess, I would say that the average length of time before being matched to a birth mother of your choice would be six months.  However, Heartfelt and the attorneys that I work with have noticed a rise in birth mothers focused on money instead of a good home for their baby.  Times are changing.  Caution is a must, experienced evaluations are essential and letting some of these birth mothers go some where else is okay.   It has always been my goal to protect the adoptive couples to the best of my ability.  It is my firm opinion that one fee is simply not worth the broken hearts created when an adoption is not completed, not to mention the future of the infant.

An average adoption is approximately $23,000 plus costs.  A home study is needed to finalize your adoption.  This is a time dated document and must be completed in your residing state. Since it is valid for a specific amount of time only, it would be wise to sign up with Heartfelt at the same time you begin your home study.  Depending upon the laws in each state, out-of-state couples may be required to finalize their adoption here in California.

ITEMIZED FEES:   My facilitation fee is $5,000 and paid up front.   The attorney that I work with the most is $15,000 which includes taking care of the birth mother and your finalization here in CA.   Birth mother expenses are unknown until you are matched.  These expenses are deposited into an attorney's trust account so an accurate  itemization can be filed at the time of finalization.   We can estimate the total fees to be approximately $23,000.

ITEMIZED COSTS:  :   (1) home study, (2) an Adoption Service Provider's report - $800 (3) a $20 filing fee for the Petition (4)  travel to CA to pick up your baby and staying in a motel for about 5 days.  California's fee of $1,500 due at the time of finalization..

I am always looking for adoptive couples who will be loving parents and provide a good home for these babies.  Call me so we can personally discuss the adoption process and I can answer any questions you may have.
